Staff Experience: On Board the Princess Caribbean

Julie is one of our resident expert travel advisors – our specialist consultant with a deep knowledge of all things Cruise. She had the opportunity to spend some time on board Caribbean Princess and we had to share.

On board the Caribbean Princess

I have just returned from 3 nights on board Princess Cruises’ Caribbean Princess and I have to say I was very impressed.

To reach the Caribbean Princess, we flew into Miami and then took a short transfer to Fort Lauderdale. This takes about 20-25 minutes.

We spent a pre-night in Hilton Marina Fort Lauderdale which was a fabulous hotel and the location was perfect.

Before arriving at the port, we completed all our details on Princess’ app. So by the time we did arrive, we were already ocean-ready! All we needed to do was simple collected our Medallions and board the ship. The Ocean Medallion

The Ocean Medallion itself!

The Ocean Medallion is just fantastic. I went to my room and the door unlocked without me having to do anything – very handy!

The cabin was bright and the bathroom was spacious. The bed was as soft as a marshmallow, from the bedding to the pillows it was all very impressive.

The staff on board were all so nice and nothing was an issue.

The food on-board is amazing, everything from cheese & bacon fries to lobster!

            The lobby

There was plenty going on all around the ship from the ‘sail away party’ to movies (they even had a Knitters & Knatters event on board). I honestly feel there was something for everyone on board. Princess Cruises also have ‘The Voice of the Ocean’ on-board which is really good. They have the well known judges seats from the TV show and do auditions followed with a live show.

The ship offers a number of pools on board, including an adults-only pool. It never felt too busy.

While you’re on board, you can use the Ocean Now app to order food, drinks and a range of other stuff. It has an Ocean Compass that lets you locate people that you’ve added to your profile and send messages through the app.

Once you are set up you can also play games and create an avatar which was great fun especially for kids. Wi-fi worked out at €9.99 per day and it is so good I could face time and video call with ease.

Princess Cays - A Private Island
Princess Cays – a stunning private island

We stopped off at Princess Cays – this is a private island owned by Princess Cruises. It’s a stunning island. If you have All Inclusive this will also work on the island. They’ve got a BBQ, also all included, and beach huts with cabanas available to rent.

Princess Cruises are a premium Cruise line and I must say from the staff to the food the service it really was fantastic.
