Exciting news!

Was your Working Holiday Visa in Australia cut short by COVID? Then you’ll be a glad to know that you may be able to apply for a free new Working Holiday visa or get a refund on your previous visa.

The coronavirus pandemic has affected our lives in so many ways and disrupted all of our best-laid plans. Not least for those who were planning to travel abroad or relocate to another country for a work or personal reasons. Among those are young Irish people who were planning on taking that classic working holiday adventure to Australia.

Working holiday visas are an amazing way to get out there and see the world, put some international experience on your CV, have unforgettable experiences and meet life-long friends – no wonder they’re so popular. Unfortunately, a lot of people who were about to head off for their Working holiday visa adventure had to cancel those plans, or those who were already abroad came home during the pandemic.

Now the Australian government may let you reapply for your Australian Working Holiday visa if you fall into a few basic categories:

  • you were granted a COVID-19 affected WHM visa before 20 March 2020;
  • your WHM visa expired on or after 20 March 2020 while you were outside Australia, or your WHM visa will expire before 31 December 2021 while you are outside Australia; and
  • you did not travel to Australia on your WHM visa, or you departed Australia before your WHM visa ceased.

If your Working Holiday Visa was cancelled or cut short due to the pandemic the best thing to do now is get in touch with us and our working holiday expert may be able to help.
