Sometimes we want the best of both worlds, the city and the beach. Boston has just that. Only a twenty minute ferry from Downtown Boston lies Spectacle Island, and what a spectacle it is. On a clear day, while enjoying the waves lap against your feet in the sand, you can get a gorgeous view of Boston’s city skyline. This island is also a big hit with hikers. Cape Ann

Nantasket

Nantasket is another incredible beach on the outskirts of the city. It is very popular for the locals for a weekend retreat to the beach. The name ‘Nantasket’ derives from the Native American Wampanoag language and translates to ‘where tides meet’, which is very appropriate for this marvellous beach. Beachgoers can enjoy biking, hiking, the bathhouse and the playground, as well as swimming and sunbathing of course!

 

Orlando

Orlando offers you beach experiences that you just won’t get anywhere else. Think palm trees, cars with the top down, coconuts and boardwalks! Although you may not associate Orlando with a seaside trip, Florida, and Orlando in particular, is a stone’s throw away from some iconic beaches. Cocoa Beach

We can talk about beaches near Orlando without mentioning Cocoa Beach. A 45-minute road trip away from Downtown Orlando, Cocoa Beach is known for its surf and laidback lifestyle. Cocoa Beach was home to Kelly Slater, the most successful surfer in the world, so it would be a sin to not rent out a board and paddle along the waves! You can also enjoy swimming, deep-sea fishing, walking and water sports.

 

Daytona Beach

Daytona Beach is the quintessential American beach for spring break like you see in the movies. It is a friendly seaside town in Central Florida. With the beautiful beach, you also have a wonderful boardwalk, with restaurants, attractions and arcades. The lagoon offers a waterpark and go-karting and laser tag. During the summer, there are often free summer concerts on the boardwalk too. For any racing fans, Daytona is also home to the Daytona International Speedway, which hosts the renown Daytona 500 NASCAR race.
