Things to do in Ibiza & Nightlife
There are so many things to do in Ibiza. The nightlife is the stuff of legend. You won’t be far from a party no matter where you’re staying. While the rave scene has quietened down since its 90s heyday, you’ll still find plenty of night-long parties in the island’s clubs and bars. Go beyond the party scene and you’ll find plenty of culture and sights, too. Take a tour of the Dalt Vila UNESCO Site, the historic centre of Ibiza Town. Tour the famous Santa Lucíá bastion and take in some amazing views of the old fishing district and the harbour. Consider catching the ferry for a day trip to Ibiza’s smaller neighbour, Formentera. legacy of the bohemian infusion Ibiza saw a few decades ago lives on in the form of its charming ‘hippy markets’ like the weekly ones in Es Canar and San Carlos. Pick up some handcrafted wares and souvenirs while soaking up the lively atmosphere.
Dining Out
Most holidaymakers don’t associate Ibiza holidays with a rich culinary scene but this aspect of the island life might just surprise you. Resorts, hotels and tourist-focused areas of the island cater to all tastebuds with a wide range of familiar favourites that you’d find back home, Spanish-infused local cuisine and international restaurants serving everything you would expect to find. So even picky eaters will find something to keep them happy. A lot of the burgeoning food scene is concentrated around Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia and other bigger towns and villages. Don’t forget to sample local specialities, especially the seafood – it doesn’t get fresher than seafood harvested from island waters!
Ibiza for Families
Ibiza isn’t exactly known as a family destination but it could just surprise you. It’s not as built-up or showy as the big Mediterranean resorts on other islands and you won’t find as many major attractions like water parks or theme parks. But there is still plenty to do for families on their Ibiza holidays. How about a horse-back ride across the rugged landscape, fun water sports or go-karting in San Antonio or Santa Eulalia? You will find plenty of activities to keep young people happy, as well as the parents.
Best Beaches in Ibiza
Major beaches like family-friendly Talamanca Beach and bustling Playa d’en Bossa are well worth a visit. But there are plenty of less busy beaches for you to discover too. What about Cala Comte? This beautiful beach is near San Antonio on the west coast of Ibiza. 800-metres long, this is a gorgeous hideaway hugging the rocky coast. You can also venture to the North of the island and discover beautiful Benirrás Beach, a stunning sandy stretch in a sheltered cove that offers great views of Cap Bernat.
